Stan Lee, the prolific creator of beloved superheroes such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Avengers, and X-Men, is headlining this year’s ComicCon Asia. NBA legend Ray Allen and Walter Jones, who played Zack Taylor/Black Ranger in 1993’s Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, will also grace the event. It is currently unclear as to which day Lee will appear.

Fans of different pop culture favorites can expect a lot from ComicCon Asia this year. There will be a cosplay competition, talks, and workshops with industry experts, as well as panel discussions.

For Animators and Illustrators

Learn how to create innovative characters with LEGO’s senior concept development artist Ian Sta. Maria, or to be a master illustrator with Harvey Tolibao. Tolibao has created covers for both Marvel and DC, and has provided concept art and game designs to Nintendo and SEGA.

Budding and career animators are also invited to attend an exclusive workshop on visual development for animated feature films with Walt Disney’s senior development artist, Armand Serrano.

For Cosplayers

Learn how to construct impressive armor costumes from Chad Hoku, better known in the industry as Hoku Props. If fabric cosplay is your game, then head on over to Linda Le aka Vampy Bit Me’s workshop on producing beautiful fabric costumes. Join Anna Redie aka Enji Night and photographer Jay Tablante as they give tips on how to create the most stunning cosplay photography. Hone your character portrayal skills by listening to Nana Kuronoma give a talk on cosplay aesthetics. You can also join Cosplay Match-Up, the event’s grand cosplay competition.

For the General Public

You can join Auction Hero to bid for the rarest items and memorabilia or visit the Trading Guild where you’ll be sure to find new treasures for your Star Wars or Marvel collection.

ComicCon Asia will be held on 24 to 25 March 2018, at the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia in Pasay, Metro Manila in the Philippines.
